For founders
You can say what your product does. Can you say why it had to exist?
Most early stage founders cannot answer that in two sentences, and it costs them in pitch meetings, recruiting and first sales calls. The workshop fixes that in an hour, with operators who have done it a hundred times.
How to get a seat
Workshops are hosted by your investors for a cohort of their portfolio founders. If your firm hasn't hosted one yet, send this page to your platform or talent partner, or ask us to reach out to them.
Where the story shows up
The same two sentences do four jobs.
Pitch meetings
An investor who cannot repeat your two sentences after the meeting cannot champion you in the partner meeting.
Recruiting
The first ten hires join a mission, not a feature list. The origin story is the hiring pitch.
First sales calls
A buyer needs to hear the pain they recognize before they will listen to how you solve it.
The homepage
The same draft becomes the top of the site, so the story you tell in the room matches the one a stranger reads.
What you will write
Five answers, in your own words, coached on the spot.
-
01
What have you built?
Say what the product does in two sentences a smart outsider would understand. No feature lists, no category jargon.
-
02
Why did you build it?
Name the moment of first hand pain that made the company necessary. The story starts with a problem someone felt, not a market map.
-
03
Why are you the right one?
Earned insight, not a resume. What did you see up close that other people missed, and how did you come to see it?
-
04
What are the meaningful benefits?
Outcomes in the customer's words: time saved, risk reduced, decisions improved. If the customer wouldn't say it, cut it.
-
05
How does it work, from here to live?
Make adoption feel realistic and low risk. What happens on day one, and when does the customer see the first result?
What to bring
Nothing. Come as you are.
You do not need a deck, a doc or a rehearsed pitch. Bring the answer you give today when someone asks what your company does. The hour is for making that answer sharper, truer and shorter.
You will leave with a first draft and a clear next edit. If you want to keep going, follow on office hours with a GrowthPath partner are available, one on one. Some founders choose to keep working with us on sales, marketing and demand generation afterward. That is entirely your call.
